Haven’t really drawn in a long while so I took out my pencils and pens, flipped to a page of Dazed & Confused and started sketching in office. And because Iain Macarthur’s illustrations have been staring at me everyday in office, decided to take reference from it and kind of draw it in my own way. Feels very rusty drawing and I think it shows but it’s about time to start again. :)

Being a sci-fi fan, I’ve always been fascinated with the future and how it would become. However, technological advances, as amazing as they are, scare me and I actually don’t think it’s necessarily a good thing. So in early 2010, I created an illustration that kind of mocks the entire situation.
Remember this earlier post I had about creating a scene of the future and having kids place self-drawn stickers onto it? Well the actual event took place months ago and here’s the landscape that I created. (For a bigger view, go to http://www.flickr.com/photos/42514029@N03/5417527699/)

The actual print was 6m by 1m and it was stuck onto a wall so the kids could reach out for it easily.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I can upload the process and final result of the kids drawing and sticking onto the canvas but I have to say it was fun and memorable. Glad the kids like it and really grateful Playeum gave me this opportunity. :)

Time to think of ways to expand this wall illustration. Hmm…

…goes to Paris to be exact.
This is a notebook cover (which would be folded to half) and it’s probably the first time that I really combined illustration with a photograph. The photo was taken in Paris in 2009 while I was on board a Ferris Wheel. :)
